LiveJournal is another free blog service offered by Six Apart. It includes numerous templates and lets you add your own custom CSS style sheet if you want. It also supports some changes to the HTML code in the templates if you want to individualize your blog. Or you can embed your journal into your own website or create a blog from scratch.

This blog service accepts posts from email enabled cell phones and from instant messaging services. You can also upload video and images.

Like Vox this service provides few traffic statistics other than comments and offers little technical support. It does have some FAQs but otherwise you have to spend time searching through user blogs to find help.

If you are the type that wants to submit your own blog creation in CSS LiveJournal is a good choice for you, however if you need more stats try Six Apart’s paid service TypePad.

LiveJournal has many useful publishing options.

You cannot use some features or upload videos with the free version.

The Verdict
: 5.25/10

LiveJournal will get the job done, but not as well as some of its competitors.
